This week marks the 6th week of our COVID MAD program. We hope you’ve been following along, but if not, here’s a short version of what we’re up to.
When our community first started seeing the negative effects of Covid-19 on our local businesses, we wanted to help. We’ve always believed in the importance of shopping local and supporting local businesses. But, we realized that times like these make it more important than ever. That’s why we created COVID MAD – a Community of Valiant Individuals Determined to Make a Difference. Yes, we feel anger, frustration, and a host of other negative feelings toward the virus and changes it has caused in our communities. But, instead of dwelling on that, we’re choosing to stay positive and reach out to support our fellow entrepreneurs.
Each week of the COVID MAD program, we buy $250 worth of gift certificates from a local business that we feature throughout that week. We then give one of those gift cards to a customer of ours each day of the week. It’s a positive situation for all involved!
Back to Sweetest Season Artisan Eatery!
Week 6 of our COVID MAD Program finds us returning to Sweetest Season, your local artisan eatery right here in Tempe, AZ. Watch the video to find out how the restaurant has been faring these last few weeks. Then, check out their website to see what’s new. They’ve certainly adapted to current events … they now offer take-home meal kits for pickup or delivery, as well as a “quarantine collection” of family sized meals. Now that’s what flexibility and sustainability are all about … getting creative during tough times!
When you do get pick-up or delivery from Sweetest Season Artisan Eatery, or use one of their fabulous online recipes, give them a shout out on Facebook and do YOUR part to promote our COVID MAD partner of the week!
At some point in the near future, we hope we can all go back to business as usual. Until then, however, let’s make a concentrated effort to continue to buy local and support our local business owners and operators. After all, when this is all over, we want our communities to have not only survived, but thrived.
